100% Grecanico

This 2021 is made from Grecanico Dorato, the Sicillian name for Garganega that is also grown in northern Italy. 13 hours of maceration, enough time to pick up some amber hues and a mild degree of tannin. With notes of almond, straw, and lemon on the nose, the palate has great acidity, structure, and elegance.

The estate was founded in 2001 on a hill formerly known as Poggio dei Fossi in the southeastern Sicilian province of Siracusa. Today the Paternò sisters, Marilina and Federica, are at the helm. Their philosophy reflects a deep respect for the land, with organic farming and natural winemaking. They have been influenced by Frank Cornelissen, the guru of natural winemaking on Mount Etna
