Veneto, Italy
100% Garganega
68-year-old vines, 20-day maceration on the skins in 1/3 steel and 1/3 wood.
Bright citrus and candied lemon peel, great acid, some tannic structure. A beautiful Italian orange wine!
Santa Colomba is a collaboration between Gianfranco Mistrorigo and Marco Dani. Located in the small town of Lonigo, between Verona and Vicenza, in the area known as 'Colli Berici', the winery and vineyards are nestled inside the historical Villa San Fermo and its natural park.
A monk's congregation owns the land, and they host an active agricultural school that follows the principles of Rudolf Steiner (Grandfather of biodynamics theories).
The property stretches for 30 hectares, with about 8.5 devoted to vines. The remaining land is
protected for the park and the few structures that the villa hosts. Santa Colomba is the only entity allowed to produce wines here.
