Côtes du Jura Pinot Noir 2019
Jura, France
100% Pinot Noir
The de Sainte Marie family has been working the land and the vines in the Cotes du Jura for more than 200 years, but it is only in the last few years that Bertrand and Claire de Sainte Marie, their son Gaëtan and oenologist and Nicolas Cottier came together to found Domaine de Sainte Marie and began to make their
own wines.
Their Pinot Noir is inspired by the tradition of delicate and beautiful Pinot and red wines in the Jura, along with a look at their close neighbor, Burgundy. Wine is best at cellar temperature or even with a little chill, perfect with food.
The grapes are hand harvested & sorted. This Pinot goes through a long maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tank. It is then racked off and aged in tank for where malolactic fermentation takes place. The wines then go through a gentle filtration and are bottled at the full moon.
