Chenas Robert 2020
Certainly one of our favorite Beaujolais to date. Floral on the nose with redcurrant, blackberry, and smoky accents. Juicy on the palate with fresh red fruit with fine grained tannins and elegant balance. Finish is dry with lingering spice note.
Manual selection, Cold carbonic maceration (cold, whole grapes in concrete vats saturated with carbon dioxide) for an average of 20 days, including 14 days of prefermentation. Alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts (without starter). Malolactic fermentation. Aging 50% in old barrels for 10 months.
