100% Charbono 

Charbono is a grape we don’t see nearly enough of, which makes this bottling from Folk Machine feel like a real treat. Also known as Bonarda, this grape originated in the Savoie region of France and we are lucky enough to have old-vine Charbono growing in the Suisun Valley up on the Northern Coast. This grape can be big and brooding but in the hands of winemaker Kenny Likitprakong it has a fresh, very Californian approach. You get those deep black cherry notes, a little lavender with a perfect balance of fruit and earth. It's a red that can hang with richer dishes but still feels easygoing enough for a casual weeknight. Put a little chill on it (cellar temp)!
